A brave new past

Today the turning point has been reached,

Maybe this site should not be in english, the targeted comunity lives in the netherlands so.

Here's the switch.

We regret to inform you

We regret you to inform that our beloved pet "Frenzy" passed away the 15th of august 2009.

The passing was sudden and unexpected.

There where no circumstances that could predict the passing at forehand.

The shown picture is taken from the lifeless body which we found in its aquarium.

Possible causes of death could be:

Heath exhaustion

Oxigen levels

Refreshing of the water

Overeating (Frenzy had a sudden desire for waterpest)

Currently there is not much known about crayfish except that they are a very strong spiecies with some clear weaknesses. Copper, chloride, lack on calsium and chemical polution (sometimes from less opbvious chemicals found in aquaria medicines) are a common source of problems within populations.

Frenzy RIP

Scuba, Pharao style

Okay, Okay, the site is getting growing now, I added a new photo section because some of my readers requested me to do so.

The new section covers the photos of my scuba holidays in Egypt. At the current moment it only covers the last live-aboard. But, Surely more will follow soon.

So keep track of this site!

Walk in the park, or should i say sand

Deer on the runThose where some nice 12 klicks, especially the alternative routing part,

The best part was certainly the final stage of the route , where our good friend from idmi.nl took us for some off-trail hiking. The result was this fine camera still of a lovely little deer running away in fear.

I wont mention my own extraordinary pathfinding skills here because they where certainly on holiday.

For the photography part, I ran into some new experiences, the first experience has to do with dust. at f12 and lower you wont see any problems, but when the camerea is set to higher f values the dust particles become visible.

I looked into this matter and it is common with the DSLR (also the traditional SLR but those could change their films even when completely dusted.

The camera will be ready for use again, except some bad pictures.

Research did show that the problems are particulary for DSLR cameras. The spots can technically be filtered and will only pop up in the high aperture values which are not commonly used in combination with macro.

The matter will be looked into soon there are plenty solutions and maybe i think of writing some guidelines for it,

The second experience had to do with HDR imaging, although this is no new technique it is rather interesting. HDR stands for High dynamic range and is used for stretching exposure, color and contrast out of balance. The fun part is that it can be done with most digital camera's. All u need extra is some aplication to do the calculations for u. It can also be done with photoshop. by using layers and merging these together into one final picture.

I have added some try-outs in the pictures section.

The third lovely experience was the Sigma 150mm Macro 1:1 lens. It gives lovable results and is point and click if the subject is sitting stil. I even had some nice results without using a flash. The results can be found in the insects photo section.

For those interested in the route of todays trip.

Feel free to try :D
